The Honorable Patty Murray, Chairwoman
The Honorable Richard Burr, Ranking Member
US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Chairwoman Murray and Ranking Member Burr:
On behalf of the servicemembers, veterans, and their families and survivors we represent, thank you for closing the 90/10 loophole in the reconciliation package. As the attached letter shows, closing the 90/10 loophole has long been a top priority for military and veteran serving organizations. This is even more imperative now as COVID has increased predatory colleges’ targeting of military-connected students. Closing the loophole removes the recruiting target from the backs of military-connected students and protects taxpayer funds from propping up failing colleges. Too many colleges have closed and left veterans with wasted GI Bill benefits and nothing to show for it.
Sincerely,
