This letter is the Initial Agency Decision to your September 14, 2022, request under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. § 552, submitted to the Veterans Benefits Administration Central Office (VBACO) FOIA Office, for access to records regarding:

I am requesting information on whether any current State Approving Agencies employees have requested, received, or been denied a waiver under Sec. 3683, which prohibits SAA employees from receiving wages, salaries, gifts, profits, dividends, or services from a for-profit school. To help facilitate your response, I am attaching an excel file with a list of the 218 SAA employees as of September 22, 2021.

Your request was received on September 14, 2022, and assigned VBA FOIA Tracking Number 22-09228-F.

The Department of Veterans Affairs, Office of Education Services (EDU) and the Office of General Counsel (OGC) have conducted a search of their databases for information regarding, “whether any current State Approving Agencies employees have requested a waiver under Sec. 3683 as of September 22, 2021”, as indicated in your FOIA request. Please be advised, that no responsive records were located. Therefore, we are issuing you a no-records response.
